Heat Press and T-Shirt Rulers
Are CLPA T-Shirt Rulers heat-safe?
Three are heat-safe to 320°F (160°C): PPG-4 Full Shirt, PPG-5 Neck and Chest and PPG-6 Pocket and Sleeve. They are polycarbonate and can stay on the press. PPG-1, PPG-2 and PPG-3 are clear PETG and must be lifted off before pressing. See the Heat-Safe guide and the Standard guide.
My heat-safe ruler warped. Is it ruined?
No — it’s reversible. Press it flat at 320°F for 30 seconds under a silicone sheet with no shirt underneath, then cool flat. Full steps are in the Heat-Safe guide.
Will it work with HTV, DTF, sublimation and embroidery?
Yes — all six T-Shirt Rulers work for HTV vinyl, DTF, sublimation transfers, screen-print transfers and embroidery placement. They are alignment tools, so they work with whatever decoration method you use.
Which neckline references are built in?
Adult round neck, V-neck, youth and infant. The 1" grid handles any graphic size or position from neckline to hem on shirts up to XXL.
Will it work with my heat press brand?
Yes. The rulers work with Cricut, HPN, Stahls’, Hotronix, Geo Knight and any other consumer or commercial press.
Pipe Wrap, Coping Wing and Corner Wing
How do I choose the right Pipe Wrap size?
Pipe Wraps are sized by the largest pipe outside diameter they fit: 6", 11", 15", 20" or 24". Choose one bigger than the largest pipe you mark — a larger wrap still works on smaller pipe. Once wrapped, read the pipe OD directly from the diameter scale. See the Pipe Wrap guide.
What’s the difference between a Coping Wing and a Corner Wing?
Coping Wings scribe saddle cuts where one pipe meets another at 22.5°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 67.5° or 90° (T-joints and branches). Corner Wings scribe 2-way, 3-way and 4-way 90° corner joins for frames, handrail and balustrade.
Which Coping Wing fits my pipe?
Coping Wings are for same-size joins — the branch and run pipe must be the same size. The 1" to 4" wings are named by nominal pipe size (ID) and have the actual OD printed on them (for example 1" = 1.32" / 33.4mm OD). The 5-5/8" to 10" wings and all Corner Wings are named by OD. Measure your pipe OD and check the size table in the Coping and Corner Wing guide.
What material are the welding tools made from?
Pipe Wraps, Coping Wings and Corner Wings are 0.4mm clear polycarbonate — flexible, UV-stable and clear so you can see your line.
Will it survive welding heat?
No. Mark the line, remove the template, then cut and weld. The polycarbonate handles workshop warmth, not flame, sparks or arc heat.
Quilting Templates and Fibonacci Templates
What are CLPA quilting templates made from?
3mm clear PETG. They look and work like acrylic quilting templates but flex instead of snapping. PETG softens around 70°C (160°F), so never iron over a template.
Do CLPA quilting templates include seam allowance?
Yes. Every CLPA quilting template has a 1/4" (6mm) seam allowance built into its outer edge, so the size on the template is the finished size. Do not add another 1/4". For English paper piecing, cut the paper 1/4" smaller all round. See the Quilting Templates guide.
Can I use a rotary cutter with CLPA quilting templates?
Yes. Keep the blade vertical and tight to the edge and use a sharp blade. They also work for English paper piecing, fussy cutting and appliqué.
What are the Fibonacci drawing templates for?
Each template has six shapes stepping down in golden-ratio sizes, for naturally balanced drawing, painting, sign work and quilt design. See the Golden Ratio Templates guide.
Can I use the craft shapes for resin?
Yes — the Clear Craft Shapes (circles, squares, hexagons, triangles, ovals, stars and pentagons) are PETG blanks for resin, painting, stencilling and laser engraving. They are not suitable for sublimation or heat presses; PETG softens around 70°C. See the Clear Craft Shapes guide.
How do the No-Math Rulers work?
Scale B is Scale A compressed into a proportion. Measure on Scale A, find the same number on Scale B, and mark — on the Halving and Doubling ruler (DR07) Scale B is compressed by 50%, so that mark is the exact centre. See the No-Math Ruler guide.
How do I find the centre of a bowl blank?
Place a CLPA Centre Finder on the blank, slide it until the edge sits evenly on one of the concentric circles, and mark through the centre hole. See the Centre Finder guide.
How do I measure a wheel bolt pattern?
Fit a CLPA Bolt Pattern Gauge centrally on the wheel hub and read the bolt pattern off the scale at the slot. The Bolt Pattern guide also explains how to measure a 5 lug pattern without a gauge and has a bolt pattern chart.
Photographic and Smartphone Viewfinders
How does a photographic viewfinder work?
Hold the credit-card-sized card up to your eye to frame a scene before you shoot or sketch. Each card has a composition grid — Rule of Thirds, Fibonacci Spiral, Golden Triangle and more — on clear polycarbonate.
Which iPhone viewer fits my phone?
6.1"–6.3" iPhones (iPhone 11–17 and Pro): PV-I-Small for iOS 18 or PV-I-Small 28 for iOS 26. 6.7"–6.9" (Pro Max and Plus): PV-I-Large for iOS 18 or PV-I-Large 28 for iOS 26. Check your iOS version in Settings → General → About — the camera screen changed between iOS 18 and 26. iPhone 17 models are supported; Apple’s folding iPhone is not yet.
Is there a viewer for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold?
Yes — the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Smartphone Composition Viewer fits Z Fold 3, 4, 5 and 6, with cards for both the cover screen and the inner screen.
Do I need an app for the smartphone composition viewer?
No. It is a physical overlay that works with your normal camera app and any third-party camera app, for photos and video. Touch works through it and the shutter button stays uncovered.
Which aspect ratio should my camera be set to?
Match the card: each grid comes in 16:9, 4:3 and 1:1. Set your camera app to the same ratio as the card you are using. See the Smartphone Viewer guide.
Can I use the smartphone viewer with a phone case?
Most thin cases are fine. Bulky rugged cases and pop sockets may need to come off.
Shipping and Returns
Where do you ship from?
Orders from clpa.au ship from our Sunshine Coast workshop and are processed within 1–2 business days (not weekends or public holidays).
Do you ship internationally?
Not directly from clpa.au at the moment — we ship Australia-wide with Australia Post and Sendle. International customers can buy through our Amazon listings in the USA, UK, Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Ireland, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
How long does delivery take?
Within Australia, standard tracked postage takes 3–7 business days and Express 1–3 business days where the Australia Post Express network covers. Shipping is calculated at checkout. See our Shipping Policy.
What’s your return policy?
For clpa.au orders you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return. It must be unused, in the condition you received it and in its original packaging. Email sales@clpa.au to start a return. See our Refund Policy. Before returning, check the support guide for your product — most problems have a quick fix. Amazon orders follow Amazon’s return policy.
What if my tool is faulty or arrives damaged?
Inspect your order when it arrives and email sales@clpa.au straight away with your order number and a photo so we can look into it. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law — see our Refund Policy.
